Maybe it's soooo bad that it's actually good. :yuck:

I think Ballz would've been more fun if the controls were more responsive.

Would you play a Mode 7 style racer?

I'm attempting to get a Mode 7 (Similar to F-Zero) rendering engine working on the X68000 and FM Towns. I've uploaded an early version: http://www.rastersoft.net/project/ This is not fast enough for a game, but futher optimizations may help. Another option would be a fighting game similar to Ballz. ...

Super Fighter Team (Beggar Prince fame) has the rights to it, and are pretty tight with it, from what I've heard.

I haven't done any more with it.

i dont know dude.. why do you make such an effort to release this "game" to so many platforms? why not put all your hard work into making a new game instead of coding this thing to a bunch of platforms. It's the first new release for the FM Towns in a number of years. It's been near finis...

FM Towns test version released. Test it out!

You can download the demo version of Frog Feast for the FM Towns: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=AK0NIDOK You do not need to have a megaupload account to download the file. This is a bin/cue cd image, and needs to be burned at the lowest speed supported by your CD drive. This version is the same as th...

FM-Towns Screen question?

Is there a way to stretch the FM Towns 256x240 video mode to fill the entire screen? I am finishing up Frog Feast, and would like to support the 256x240 mode, but don't want the black bands on the side of the screen. Currently I'm using a 320x240 background, with a 256x240 foreground image (for spri...

X68000 Pro error message?

My X68000 PRO starts up with the following message in the center of the screen:
Image

Any idea what this means?

The drives insert and eject disks fine, and the system powers off when the power button is pressed.

Re: Import stores list

- http://otaku-ya.swee.to/ : the only one I've ever used. The guy speaks in broken English (as me) but he's very nice, very fast and very reliable. And maybe the lowest fees on the "deputy services" market. This seems like a good one when buying cheap games. A 100 yen game would only cost $3 more.

Japan Game Stock

Japan Game Stock (http://www.japangamestock.com/).

The prices are fairly reasonable, and the selection is good. I've ordered from them 2 or 3 times without any problems.

Do you plan to add in an X68000 section? This is arguably one of the more popular Japanese game systems.

You can doawnload the BIOS, no? I need to freakin' install UNZ...especially now that I've got no Marty. Wanna give your game a try too. There's the Rombeger file included with UNZ. It can dump the BIOS to floppy. If your talking about downloading one online, http://www.jcec.co.uk/fmtown_emu.html . ...

D'oh! :o I'll pull out the digital camera and post one. Now, I wish I could transfer the BIOS from the Marty to run under UNZ. But the floppy of the Marty is dead, or at least make a funny sound whne a disk is inserted.

I finally got my FM Towns Marty in. :P I had to spend a few hours fixing Frog Feast, but it runs on a real Marty connected to a TV. The new version is on the website.

Frog Feast for the FM Towns is now interactive.

I've gotten Frog Feast to the same level as the Neo Geo CD and Sega CD versions. You can control both frogs with two joysticks. Currently it's only been tested under UNZ. It can be downloaded from http://www.game-shoppe.com/ . Under UNZ you will need to use a joystick button as start, using F1 cause...

I now have something to show! Frog Feast now is working on the FM Towns Marty (or at least the UNZ emulator, until I get my Marty). Check it out at the Frog Feast website http://www.game-shoppe.com/.

Hawaii

In a nutshell: Hawaii is a temporary place for me. I'll enjoy it while I'm here though. I guess what it comes down to is I like it, but I don't love it. Yeah, it kinda sucks that you can see the entire island (assuming Oahu) in less than a day, or at least go all the way around. I assumed you were ...

Which now?

The women in Hawaii aren't bad. In a night out, you can meet incredible women from 4 or 5 different countries. YMMV at a Luau! :) Maybe you become oblivious to the big ones after awhile. :) It's a bit shocking at first if you're not used to it, but eventually it's not big thing. Well, not that big a...

Check out this site for games for the FM Towns (X68000, PC-88, PC-98, MSX, and Windows) http://retropc.net/alice/menu.html It looks like you probably need to understand Japanese to use these games though.

That's NFG's site. From what I know, his stuff is fairly priced, and he is a trustworthy person. He posts on Assembler from time to time. If the fees AND shipping were only $60, that's pretty good. Shipping any system runs about 5000-6000 yen. That was the total price (winning bid and everything). ...

Developing!

Personally if your not going to get games for it your almost better just to sell the system and use the money from that to get stuff for other systems. The FM Town has very few exclusive titles and most of the games can be found much easier and cheaper on other systems. It can be fun to develop for...
