FYI, this link got put up on insertcredit: "This came courtesy of Gaijin Punch, and made my day. A tiny japanese site hosted on Geocities has posted two piano re-arranged tracks from Ketsui's soundtrack. Ketsui, if you didn't know, is the best shooting game ever (though of course some would disagree...

I'm sure that's along the lines of what the rules will be. Just making it official. How this would be checked or enforced though, I have no idea. I doubt flight attendants are looking forward to asking every game-playing individual if they have their wi-fi turned off. Perhaps in the future we'll see...

I'm surprised that nothing was done about this earlier... I don't think you can go a on plane these days and not see someone playing a DS.

And even further back than that, Sony/Namco arcade cooperation goes back to the original PS1 days, right? Although I don't know if System 22 was built from the ground up with the Playstation in mind. I remember when having Ridge Racer on a home console was a big deal. That feels like a long, long ti...

Well, they've still got the next Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, and Biohazard (for now). That's not too bad. The trend does seem to be going away from 3rd party exclusives though.

OK, so I've Thundercross a little bit more and here is my report. First all, there are some sprite issues with the game. For example, when there is a large sprite near the edge or the playing field -such as the base of the 1st boss when it is still attached to the ground, or the missiles in stage 2-...

Quick question. Reading on the Mame message board link above, somebody (R. Belmont) mentioned something to the effect of "the series was Konami's idea". I assume he's talking about Oretachi Geesen, right? And if so... I had no idea. I guess looking at the release list, a lot of the titles are Konami...

Well, while we are bashing Famitsu, it should go without mentioning that a Gundam shooting game would no doubt get all 8's. And if Square-Enix ever releases a Final Fantasy shmup, watch out.

I just got done playing a round of IQ Final. Man that game is intense on some of the higher difficulty levels. Also the music in this game is just fantastic... like it's straight out of a movie orchestral soundtrack. Outstanding.

Speaking of retro releases, Capcom annouced they will have three more of their Game/Strategy Guide book combos for Playstation out on 3/28. They are Rockman, Rockman 2, and Super Pang Collection (that's Buster Bros., right?) Anyways, Rockman 2 is a real classic so it might be worth picking up. Here ...

For those that are interested, Famitsu gave Karous scores of 7,6,6, and 6. Not exactly an overwhelming vote of confidence, I would say.

Japanese Language Gaming Sites

If one were looking to read about videogames AND practice their Japanese at the same time, what would be some good sites? Basically I'm wondering what the major sites are for Japanese gaming news in Japanese. If anyone has some personal favorites, or lesser known blogs or something like that, please...

Well, you know, it's been on "the list" for awhile now, just never got around to it.

Besides, I've heard some horror stories about the durability of Duos, so that didn't really add to my enthusiasm for picking one up.

Lame excuse, perhaps? Yes, I know.
