Believe me - it's worse the people who like bitching about other internet people. Especially those who, despite considering the posts from one particular person on gaming boards annoying, maniacally persist on reading and replying them as if somebody was holding a knife against their necks. Now I b...

Seriously , you lose . I don't doubt they're "official definitions", that's exactly why I LOL. Ohh, it's official... that prevents any critic I guess? :) Wait, it says... "official" Xbox magazine, their reviews must be the best ones around. P.S. When Galilei observed the universe, the official posi...

oddly enough, all the above examples sound so obvious and natural in Italian. I guess that's one of the reason it is often said that Japanese and Italian languages have a lot in common.

Makaimura is not Super Wonder Boy, you now - and that's a pretty used formula, anyways. Don't hold your breath for something "evolutionary" on 2D action gameplay these days. Exactly, it's all again the same formula, and this time you're against it because it's born on handheld, so in your limited v...

You can also watch movies on your laptop instead of going to the cinema, but if you're a true cinephile, you'll hardly do that. Got it now? Yes, but the difference is that while Citizen Kane isn't conceived to be shown on a laptop, Super Mario Land and gameboy Tetris are meant for their screen... S...

If someone can't sacrifice a certain portion of screen size and pad customization possibilities to play handheld games, hardly he likes video-games.

How couldn't it? But if you prefer, we can speak about the controller you're forced to play with. The Makaimura series is intended to be played with an arcade joystick, no matter what the Famicom generation tells you. Ops, so now the platform is relevant to art, because no 6" game can ever be good....

You should take a look at what's there for Japanese phones before cathegorical asseverations, I'd say. The insult is forcing people to play on a screen smaller than 14'' and a shitty control pad, anyways. So it's a sort of evil plot huh? Companies release good games on gba or mobile phones to "forc...

Portable gaming is, and always was, a very limited form of video-gaming. That makes of it intrinsicly "casual". Not too different to mobile phone videogames, which everybody assumes as an aberration, curiously. A limited form = a niche = hardcore, not casual. Take the Neo Geo pocket, for instance.....

That's why WE don't make the games, indeed. I honestly can't think of the people dedicated to handheld gaming anything but their "casualness", and that's why I find it odd to see a whole thread dedicated to the GB Micro here. The concept of a portable system doesn't draw "casual gamers" any more th...

The amount of on-the-go time people have is incredible. Do you all live in Tokyo or something? I don't think it's the on-the-go charm; not for for many of us, at least. I mean, the problem is that we want to play Shantae, Gunstar Super Heroes, and Castlevania Aria of Sorrow. We'd love to play these...

The whole point of the micro is that it's bindingly small. I guess if you feel you can't play games on such a small system than it's not for you, but don't criticize the whole reason it was created in the first place. Yes, I agree, that's its purpose (besides, well, making lots of money) and I'm no...

I too think the micro is so small that you cannot hold it and feel comfortable. And I really don't like the idea to play gba software on a screen that is even smaller than the one originally intended for. Some articles mentioned that the Micro doesn't fare too well with text-heavy games, like gba Br...

First they reduced the number of buttons, making a big fat button, because today's games are too complicated. Now they managed to reduce the number of hands you have to use for playing them. Clever. This has the potential to be the best Nintendo controller since the Snes one.

[PS2] Fushigi no Umi no Nadia & Mirai Shonen Conan (PS2)

Well, whoa! My two favorite tv anime series ever get both a PS2 game these days! And Nadia even has a limited edition release. I wonder what kind of games are both. Conan seems an action game, while I didn't find info on Nadia. Anyway, it's funny, they both already had a game release on PC-Engine Du...

Thanks for the impressions GP. I plan to order this one from play-asia soon. The graphics are of course, very lovely 2D with some great parallax effects. The game starts off outdoors in a neighborhood -- something you never see in the series. You never see in the series lately. Simon's Quest was all...

I got the terrible feeling that this one might end worse than Loi. As weird as it sounds, but I'll point out some things that worry me: 1- the graphic engine is not upgraded. Okay, It's just graphics, but still it's hard to justify... Basically they used the same engine on three games (nanobreaker a...

Hahaha, good old C64, the graphics sucked but geez those were fun days, but by the time the SMS ruled, the C64 had been dead for years. I got my SMS for my birthday in 1990, before that I wanted an Amiga 500 which was mega expensive (around $1000 or more I think) so then I saw the adds for the NES ...
