Re: Nintendo Switch

Not sure if you're aware but there's a remaster of VC for the PS4. I bought it on sale for like $20, haven't gotten around to playing it yet but it's in 1080p and runs smoother, apparently.

Lots of good stuff on PS4, and brand new ones sell for $200 these days.

Re: Nintendo Switch

Valkyria Chronicles 4 coming to Switch next summer. PS4 first, in Spring (also coming to Xbox One):

Looks a lot like the original on PS3, which was a great game!

Re: Nintendo Switch

I've bought: BOTW Odyssey Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Seiken Densetsu Collection And I have Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on preorder (releases December 1). Looks like a good JRPG. That's plenty for me so far, all have been good to great and worth the price of admission. Hopefully XC2 is similar. MK8D is really go...

Re: Nintendo Switch

I recently played through Mario Odyssey. It was pretty fun, but as soon as I was done with it I put it up for sale. Something about it just felt a bit hollow. I think it's the crazy amount of moons (800 or so, I think), most of which are more of a drag than fun to discover. I got about 275 and calle...

Re: Blaster Master Zero

Switch version is 60fps, 3DS is 30fps. So that's something. Regardless, I still really enjoyed it on 3DS. I have a Switch now but don't think I'll buy the game again.

Re: Crazy Ass Auctions

Thanks for posting these, EOJ! That marquee must've been something especially made for the location test, right? I wonder it that's something that'll appear on Yahoo too.. Yeah, I didn't notice that. They did a location test there in February 2012, I think (I went to it). Maybe it was left over fro...

Re: Repros

The negative feedback for Sparkster 2 (SMD) also claims bootleg. The seller's reply to that seems like a non-reply though? "Foreigners shouldn't use Yahoo Auctions" It's a shame that buyer misspelled nisemono as misemono -- totally different meaning. This typo pegs him/her as a 'gaijin' o...

Re: Crazy Ass Auctions

Every Akumajou Dracula-related game continue their steady rise: 50000 yen (close to $500 USD) for a complete in box Akumajou Dracula (Nintendo Famicom).I could have sworn they weren't even half that price early last year but my memory might be wrong. It'd suck to be a new Akumajou collector, that's...

Re: Crazy Ass Auctions

SDOJ Kit 610,200 This is crazy. I still remember that day in April 2012 when I got to A-Cho arcade in Kyoto early in the morning, and saw the worker there open up the box and install the game. A Japanese dude was standing next to me as we watched. He played it first, then I had a credit. I even too...

Re: Nintendo Switch

Okay, I got my Switch (grey joycons of course). No problems with mine, everything works fine. I'm liking it a lot more than I thought. Zelda is wonderful (it really is worth it to buy a system just for this game), and the system itself is impressive when you hold it in your hands. I haven't hooked i...

Re: [PS4/PSV] YU-NO

Wow, I don't usually go for boxed sets, as usually they just include a bunch of crap I don't need, but this one is amazing. All killer, no filler! Been meaning to play the major C's Ware Games for a while, and will start with DESIRE. I have DESIRE for PS Vita preordered. Comes out April 28. Eve Bur...

Re: [PS4/PSV] YU-NO

As someone who has never seen a PS4 game in a store (yes, I live in Cave on Mars) do they all feature an orange band? Please tell me no. It's due to the CERO D rating. Those have an orange band. CERO B is green, CERO C is blue, CERO A is black, CERO Z is red. It's the same across all platforms (Xbo...

[PS4/PSV] YU-NO

I received my limited edition YU-NO for the PS4 last week. This a remake of the PC-9800 (and later Sega Saturn) visual novel by Team ASD (ex-CAVE producer Makoto Asada, et al) at 5pb. I played the Saturn version about 20 years ago, but didn't finish it; my Japanese wasn't very good back then. I was ...

Re: [PS4/PC] NieR Automata

The yu-no remake comes with a download code for the original pc-98 version. From what I have read, it has been updated with the remake's better navigation system. It is also censored, of course. Yes, you can choose the original soundtrack, also at least one arranged version. The LE comes with 5 soun...

Re: [PS4/PC] NieR Automata

I played the demo and thought it was good. I"ll pick it up when it's a bit cheaper. I played the first game on Xbox 360, but didn't finish it. Lost interest halfway through. I should probably finish it one day. Currently awaiting my limited edition YU-NO for PS4 to arrive from Amiami, so that's...

Your kid has all the good stuff! ;) I wonder if he might like this game? The difficulty is a bit tame, and it's a great intro to Metroidvanias and classic pixel art.

Re: Blaster Master Zero

Yep, downloadable. Only ten bucks, or 980yen on the Japanese shop (that's where I bought it). I just finished the game, took me about 8.5 hours. Totally rad from start to finish. You can choose English or Japanese language in the options. I really recommend playing it on a New 3DS XL, the pixel art ...

Blaster Master Zero

I bought this the other day and I can't stop playing. It is REALLY good. I remember the original game back in the day but I could never beat it. This is a lot easier, but still tons of fun. I'm playing on 3DS for the crisp 240p and d-pad controls, but it's also available on Switch. I've played about...

Re: Nintendo Switch

The video shows all sorts of problems, though, not just software. The dock is poorly designed and the joy-cons have a range of problems (physical connection to the console, dropping the signal, etc).

Re: Nintendo Switch

I have read a lot of negative things about the console. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: -Save games are locked to the console and cannot be moved or backed up (Perhaps an anti-piracy attempt?) -No web browser or apps whatsoever. Very bare-bones UI. -Screen gets scratched easily ...
