Hori has announced that they cancelled the release of these consumer cabinets.
The reason? They failed to get sufficient orders...

...Not that I'm surprised about it

So, the game should be out by now..
Anyone who tried it care to share impression?
So far I read it is really suited for multiplay grinding of items-weapons-armors until you become strong enough to beat the boss, then repeat..
with no skill at all required..

Well.. if it's anything like the PSP version there's nothing much to be excited about.. it was an absolutely generic shooter, really..
Hardly worth to bear the Darius name...

I read in a recent interview with a producer that they're going to 'improve the violence' 8whatever it means) for the western release of the game..
So that basically confirms it..

This remind me of PN.03 for GC.. so it can be either very bad or very good.. Still, will have my attention being one of the few intersting Japanese games coming in the future, hoping it doesn't try to ape Gears of War too much... But the fact Mikami is aiming at a stricktly single-player game...

Glad to hear you like it so far..I'm going to get it, too Also the 'white orb which seems to randomly award points', I'm sure it's not so random, I remember it from Gaiden and there it was definitely NOT random.. ..even if actually I don't remeber exactly how it worked..maybe it depended about the t...

I've played both, and both gameplay-wise are identical
Screen display on the PS3 is noticeably worse, because of framerate, and the visuals are not as crisp as 360 version.
But I prefer Dualshock for playing..

Might I add I sold my 360 some months ago, so it's a no contest for me :P

Contra Rebirth AND Gradius rebirth are both in my to-play list God only knows when finally I'll play them About Bayonetta, I played the PS3 demo and I'm waiting for it, too, despite the technical issue of the PS3 version (mostly frame rate being lower than 360) Still, the game will be the same so I'...

Still, I can't understand the point of having to connect a PSP to a monitor/TV set to play its games

I really feel that its beuty is to play them whenever or wherever you like..

maybe because I have so little time nowadays, I spend most of my gaming time with portables

But wasn't the wii version converted/ programmed by a western developer? I think that's why it hasn't yet arrived in Japan

and, from what I heard, the wii version plays as shit with those controllers (as usual, I might add)

TRICO ('TRI' = THREE)

just my thinking, eh, but it does make sense :)

Right, PixelJunk and most of the downloadable stuff is fun for what they offer, a dissertion from more 'usual' gaming...or at least, this is the way I look at them.
Still I can't deny sometime those simple and stylish games can be totally addicting

There are also some excellent PSN-exclusive games to be considered,
PixelJunk Eden & Monsters, the hypnotizing Flower, and the underrated The Last Guy (this will receive a disc release in Japan this week, with added stages and trophies)
