I'm a total noob when it comes to bemani games, but I do know what I played of Pop n' Music whilst in Tokyo I absolutely loved. Wish I picked up a controller and a PopN game whilst I was there. :( Beatmania looked a bit intimidating to me, especially as it seemed everyone else was playing it at like...

Dude, really you shouldn't be running in anything less than a proper pair of well cushioned running shoes. You will cause injuries by running for long periods in trainers/sneakers (especially if you are jogging on concrete!) as there is nothing to absorb the shock when your feet hit the floor. Best ...

Eh? The reason I began running is because with my desk job I didn't want to get fat! ;)

Top Gear: Nissan GT-r vs. Shinkansen.

Guys, you might already be aware of this as I understand it is quite a popular show overseas, but this week's Top Gear featured Jeremy Clarkson in a Nissan GT-R vs. James May and Richard Hammond using the super efficient JR rail system in a race across Japan. In typical Top Gear fashion the feature ...

I'm currently in training for a 10m race and hopefully a half marathon before the year is out. I'm up to 10km runs at the moment, averaging around 55mins each time (baring in mind there are a couple of nasty hills on my training route!). I really enjoy running and I hope to be up to marathon standar...

Hey GP, A couple of things...

1) Just wanted to say I really enjoyed your write up this month. I'm certainly more of a rock/indie fan than dance music, but it was a very interesting read and something I can relate to. I know you're not into the scene as much these days but any future posts on Tokyo clubbing (or lack of!) are mos...

Hmmm...Japanese version also starts you on two lives. AND the game is harder! Checked the dip switches and both the Western and Japanese versions state the default difficulty as Normal and lives as 2. :?

(Chariot and Don't Pull both default to 3 lives.)

Just to confirm, the arcade default settings only give you two lives at the start?

Caliber. 50 is a nifty little game, from what I've played of it. Usually for these rotary games in MAME I use my dual shock and set L1 and R1 to 'rotate' the controller. Works OK, but never gonna be as good as the stick. I was quite shocked to find Midnight Resistance used these sticks on the coin-o...

King of Fighters '98 - Ultimate Match and Sengoku Basara X are both now up for pre-order at Play Asia (There is also a LE version of SBX).

I had no idea SBX was coming to PS2, can anyone tell me wether it's any good? I've only seen screens of it in an issue of Arcadia and it looks pretty nice.
