Re: [DS/3DS] Monitor Output

Well, GP prefers the arcade ports above everything else, Macaw 4, and I Uprising. All we need is a couple of people to come in and champion Spirits, the original Hard Corps and Shin, and we'll have the entire spectrum covered. And if later on someone showed up and defended Superman 64, that would ci...

Those reviews are absolute trash lol, says the guy who puts off playing absolute masterpieces of the genre like Goku Makaimura and Hard Corps: Uprising in order to spend months and years of his life plowing through bottom-of-the-barrel Famicom and PC-98 dreck while making gigantic threads in which ...

Re: Sites that help you keep track of your collection/backlo

After dicking around with backloggery for a little while, I've come around to the custom database idea. Is Excel the best one to go for, or could anyone recommend something better in terms of ease of use and versatility? I am using Windows, by the way...

Re: The emulation thread...

Meh, my fault, I am just a stickler for accuracy. All it takes to satisfy me is a couple of extra words. If it were me I'd have simply said "As far as I know it's never been seen in Akiba and never sold at an auction", etc.

Re: The emulation thread...

Excuse my ignorance on this matter but I find it incredible that anyone is able to make such claims as "Game X has NEVER been seen in Akiba and NEVER been sold at auction", etc. Do you like google every game in existence two times a week for 30 years straight or something? Or is there some...

Sites that help you keep track of your collection/backlog

I've noticed Shou uses Backloggery [ > ], and he has a big collection, so it's probably a good site. But there seem to be quite a few of them around, and I am wondering which one's the best, so I don't invest too much time inputting my collection in one, only to find out later that there's something...

He has to run an option in the admin panel to "rebuild search index" or some such crap. It is one of the first things they tell you to do in the instructions on how to upgrade from phpBB 2.0 to 3.0. Another thing he has to do is install a mod/hack so that whenever you reply to a topic, it ...

I am not big into OSTs, that's why I am asking.

Here's the official page, by the way: http://grev.co.jp/ronde2/ I am really happy about this game. I got into the original far too late to take advantage of the Japanese arcade scene when I was there, but I hope I'll be able to get into it much earlier this time. How amazing would it be if it was co...

Back on-topic: this game seems like a must-have SRPG:

when you post this article you are going to end up being torn to shreds by people who simply wish to define an RPG as the next big SquareEnix release. I applaud you for your efforts of course, but it's going to be brutal. :) How exactly will I be "torn to shreds"? Hatemail I just delete. ...

Okay, I read your whole article - very interesting read. Not having spent much time with RPGs (or well, strategy games), dismissing them as repetative, boring, taunting and frustrating - I learned a whole lot. Guess I did miss your point, sorry for bashing at you. No worries. But still, your reacti...

You are making a pretty massive mistake here. I did not "base" my article on a Wikipedia article. I do not need Wikipedia to tell me what is and what is not an RPG. I've been playing RPGs for more than 15 years (DMing campaigns in several settings for 5 of those years), and I know all ther...

I'm not really insterested in semiotics, but pulling arguments out your ass / wikipedia to prove your point kinda bothers me. Like I have already explained, I did not pull anything out of my ass. Wikipedia is not a very good source when it comes to academic studies or exact definitions, you know. Yes, I know. I'm surprised at you for using it, since I've read several comments by you, stating how pointless it is to write such articles. I said to write them, not to read them. What ultimately ...

By your definition Oh and the definition is not mine -- it's Wikipedia's, i.e. it's mankind's definition. Furthermore, I am certain that if you asked the creators of the first RPG (Gygax and Anderson) they would tell you the same thing. Also, everyone who plays real RPGs will also tell you the same...

I understand this is something that most gamers will find hard to accept, but that's what happens after two decades of brainwashing by the retards who work in the specialist press. It's not that hard to understand really, though: Every game that contains a significant amount of role-playing is a rol...

Only it's not an RPG. There are really only a couple of videogames that are RPGs. The rest are simply strategy games with a mild exploration aspect.

I liked the way you put it, so I quoted you in that thread. Not that it helped my case much, mind, these people would not get if even if you knocked them on the head with a versus city cabinet, and then it would be pointless anyway because they'd be dead.

Oh here's an idea!
