I enjoy Guardians in the Hood but its unconventional button setup is a huge pain. And although it's not my cup of tea, folks who enjoyed the works of James Goddard ought to check out Shred Nebula. He designed that game (first title from his company CrunchTime Games) and actively promoted it when it ...

Honestly, I'd rather folks who use the ambulance pay the $400-800 fee than every taxpayer contributing (as is the case in my county) since some folks will no doubt use it for less-than-critical needs in the latter case. That said, I'd be pretty upset with the hotel. Surely the best expression of ser...

As a big The Wheel of Time fan, I first heard about George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series some years back as a high fantasy series of comparable quality. I ended up reading A Game of Thrones and dabbled into its sequel but the gritty naturalness never suited my tastes. I've been intere...

The yen will actually appreciate in the short term because investors are betting that JP companies concerned about potential economic ramifications from the earthquake will bring their investment money back home as a safeguard. In the long term, it's possible that the sheer damage of the earthquake ...

Hope everyone is fine and nothing was seriously damaged. After this incident, will you consider buying earthquake-resistant shelves or something? I recall reading before that some Japanese consider for these possibilities? I wonder what a person's options are if they get caught in a tsunami while in...

1. It's probably a good idea to keep the PCBs boxed if you can so that they have some protection from outside and when you lean them against one another (avoid stacking). Lots of folks also use anti-static bags and bubble wrap for protection. 2. It's not a good idea to leave a PCB in anything when p...

Some good comments from Mr. Hawkins but it's hard to take the article itself seriously when it left out the crucial detail that Mr. Hawkins used to work at Apple a long time ago. It's got to be less than appealing seeing Apple succeed without him while leaving only scraps to content developers. That...

It's going to make deciding which version of multiplatform games to get tougher. Do I want 3D and a touchscreen? Or better visuals and a tactile pad? The DS vs. PSP wars already decided that interesting gimmicks would rule out over more expensive superior technology. 3D is an exciting gimmick that's...

Sega also tried to keep prices high for Phantasy Star in the US for unknown reasons. I remember seeing PSI, PSII, and PSIV for $80 at the time, when a battery clearly wasn't worth $20 extra. The crazy thing is that with the exchange rate favoring the dollar, Sega was charging more for the early PS g...

you know, i HATE Apple but that's not the reason they are succeeding - it's a simplistic and easy to use market place coupled with their friendly approach to publishing. That doesn't explain their original success with the iPod. There were already a few small, sleek MP3 players at the time. Many ha...

Yeah, unfortunately Microsoft mandates color-coded buttons. The first-gen TEs are the last licensed 360 controllers to slip through.

It's a good-looking stick but the only issue is that Hori's 360 button setup is a pain to always set up buttons (or swap them) for fighters.
