Re: [PSP to TV] Controller Adapter Max -Wild Fire Gaming Doc

I just bought this item and once I get it, I will post my impressions on it for those who care. Surprisingly enough there is little to no information about this item on the English Internet. Science damn it, how can no-one know about it? Or maybe everyone's using some other accessory that does the s...

Re: Horror Visual Novels (Human Entertainment, Chunsoft, et

It has only just come to my attention that I can use my Android Phone to automatically create Ankidroid vocabulary cards (sourced from Japanese dictionary apps). This changes things. It means that I am may be more enthusiastic about not only diving into native Japanese media but also enthusiastic ab...

Re: Horror Visual Novels (Human Entertainment, Chunsoft, et

I had initially tried to build up the internal database, but I'm finally coming to terms with the realization that it just doesn't work for me. The only vocab/kanji/grammar I retain is the stuff I come across in real life a few times, because then it's easier to form an attachment between some abst...

Re: Horror Visual Novels (Human Entertainment, Chunsoft, et

I'm holding out too, and would much rather use Japanese Nobel prize literature for mere practice, before I'm ready for these. :) Haha, my thoughts exactly: When it comes to native Japanese materials, I'd rather use the boring stuff first for mere practice whether that's game 説明書s or yes, Nobel Priz...

Re: Horror Visual Novels (Human Entertainment, Chunsoft, et

Well, it's been a year and a half since I created the thread but I still haven't properly tried any of these games that people have suggested. I wonder when I will... My excuse is that I want to have as large a "Japanese Toolbox" as possible before "plunging into" these media. Wh...

Re: [DS/3DS] Monitor Output

As a fag who is indifferent to the Contra series, I'll nevertheless happily fly the flag for both Shin and Neo Contra.

Re: [DS/3DS] Monitor Output

No one else interested? In that case... I'm thinking of selling my old modded 3DS unit and upgrading to the LL by buying one of their units. The only caveat is that using your PC's line in for audio results in some noise in my version so you'll want to directly hook up to your audio setup if possibl...

Re: WANTED: Some Japanese shit. And Secret of Evermore.

I wasn't able to grab it from GP but if anyone else has Zelda no Densetsu Collection for GameCube, I would like to offer $65 + shipping for it.

P.S. 100 posts, now past the newbie stage.

Re: [DS/3DS] Monitor Output

It's been out for awhile here now and is called Fake (Nise) Nitro Capture as a parody of the official kits from Intelligent Systems used for dev and PR. The company takes in your unit and mods it or you can buy an already modded unit from them. All models from the original DS to 3DS LL can be modde...

Re: [DS/3DS] Monitor Output

Nice. I'll be keeping an eye on this. Hopefully it's a cheaper option to that other thing that does a similar thing (DS on TV) that I forgot the name of.

Do you have any links for more information/details?

Re: Horror Visual Novels (Human Entertainment, Chunsoft, et

I just remembered another game that may be worth checking out: Linda^3 (Linda Cubed). It's a pretty unknown PS1 game but the main thing it is known for is an Adolf Hitler lookalike and low level but disturbing gore. Pics Cool, I can understand most of the text there so I'm sure I can check the games...

Re: Some random shit

Sega Saturn S-video: throw me an extra $5 and I'll put it in your next box? Actually, I got other plans for my next box (surface mail O_o) and I don't want to take any unnecessary risks with the S-video cable. Maybe you can hold onto it for me for a little while in case I get an SAL or EMS-worthy b...

Re: Horror Visual Novels (Human Entertainment, Chunsoft, et

One year later and my Japanese vocabulary has improved a decent amount but still not good enough. When I finish Core 6000, and one day someday, I'll play through this list, starting with Twilight Syndrome since it's not merely text on a background, and because the characters are children so they won...

Re: WANTED: Various Stuff.

I'm pretty certain that none of the Super Famicom BS-X stuff is physically attainable, aside from the unit itself. Those games were only available for short periods of time via broadcast, which was thankfully enough for them to be preserved for emulation. I've seen BS-X carts which sellers claim to...

Re: [PSP to TV] Controller Adapter Max -Wild Fire Gaming Doc

Sounds rad. Does it work with all PSP models? As per Shou's post, it works with PSP Slims (2000 and 3000 models). The original phat PSPs (1000) are not compatible with the component video cable in the first place, let alone the Wild Fire device. Works on PSP-2000/3000 models with OFW only by copyin...

[PSP to TV] Controller Adapter Max -Wild Fire Gaming Dock-

Thanks to GP for referring to it in the PSP thread. It sounds like the kind of thing I'm looking for (PSP to TV). This accessory basically allows you to forgo the third acronym in return for full screen television goodness. i.e. You can play your blockbuster PSP games on a TV instead of on a tiny sc...

Toyota's Latest Commercial Part 1 Toyota's Latest Commercial Part 2 Watched those for the first time just now. ***SPOILERS*** For that first link (30 second version), I was rolling my eyes at the blatant sexualisation/sex in advertising (the panty shot from behind). I thought to myself: "What'...

Horror Visual Novels (Human Entertainment, Chunsoft, et al.)

Anyone here fluent or near-fluent in the Japanese language and familiar with visual novels (old and new) that have a horror theme to it? Or visual novels with thriller, suspense or mystery elements? I'm already aware of recent releases like 「極限脱出 9時間9人9の扉」, 「コープスパーティー ブラッドカバー リピーティッドフィアー」, 「ナナシノゲエム」...

Getting some to get you a phone here and then pay for all the softs is probably the other one - but then you need to find someone who is prepared to sign up for (and break) a contract as most demand you are locked in. Unless theres a pay as you go option, but it seems you'd need a phone with a bit ...

Japanese Region Mobile/Cell Phone Games (e.g. Square-Enix)

How does one acquire them? A little information about me first: For various reasons, I like to collect Japanese-region games. So while I realise that some Japanese mobile phone games were translated and localised for non-Japanese audiences (e.g. Final Fantasy IV: The After), I am still only interest...
