Re: Any other solder jockeys here?

Probably talking to myself at this point but... I'm thinking that I might be able to use the RGB cable for the Sigma Supergun. Does anyone know how it is wired to the 8 pin din? The Mak site said that it does stereo so it may be all I need. Can't seem to find specs on it though. To further clarify, ...

Re: Any other solder jockeys here?

Well I went to Sengoku in Akiba and found a wired Scart cable. I don't know how well it is going to work when all is said and done because it is a super cheapo. They only used blue and white wires and it only has one layer of shielding around everything. I can't get my step drill bits until next mon...

Re: Any other solder jockeys here?

No worries. This is actually for a consolized MVS, not an AES. The MVS board I am using gives stereo sound off the Jamma edge. Since I am keeping it RGB for use with my XRGB mini, I don't need to wire composite video. So I can wire both audio lines to the 8 pin din and bingo stereo. I am reasonably ...

Re: Any other solder jockeys here?

Yeah, I know exactly where you are coming from. The only reason I dropped the money without flinching was because this is something I have wanted to learn for a long time. I knew that once I got in I would be in it to win it. I ending up buying the Hakko FX-888D and it is great. The best part about ...

Re: Any other solder jockeys here?

Not sure if it's just crappy equipment or there's some technique I'm missing, but my solder joints rarely turn out to be those beautiful little dabs that you always see. I seem to have the junkie shakes and have a real tough time keeping my hands still for more delicate bits, but I somehow still ma...

Re: Any other solder jockeys here?

GND to Pin 21 should be enough the same for +5V, but you can add jumper wires to the other pin on the scart side. The resistor in addition is needed because the signal is otherwise too strong an distort the picture. You also need a resistance of 75 on the video signal cables. 75 ohm resistors? Crap...

Re: Any other solder jockeys here?

Urban Dictionary lol. They have a definition for everything. By "dick swinger" I was referring to people who show off, not whack off. Just wanted to clear that up. For my RGB quest, the problems are numerous. Let me show you them: First, most searches almost invariably return results about...

Re: Any other solder jockeys here?

That's cool. I wanted to learn that stuff for years but just never got around to it. Finally decided to quit screwing around and do it. Whenever I would snoop around on other forums for topics about it, the dick swingers (and people who sell pricey mod services) would always be swooping in telling n...

Any other solder jockeys here?

When the XB1 and PS4 debuted, I found myself so overcome with excitement I took a dump and then watched a small bug crawl across the floor for about ten minutes. So I decided that I would return to the past and grab some of those old classics I used to love, along with some of those oldies I never g...

Re: The Official WTF are YOU playing right now thread

Despite the Strider series being my second favorite series (Ninja Gaiden is #1), I only just recently downloaded the new Strider from XBL. After playing it for a few hours, well, it's okay I guess. I like the new gadgets like the plasma catapult and the various cipher power-ups. My main gripe is tha...
