Re: Games w/ MIDI

Finally got the Yamaha MU2000EX I've been drooling over for awhile. And made a stupid long (over an hour) vid of using it with a ton of different X68k games. Enjoy! :)

Re: Misc. games and parts interest check

I don't suppose you have a Yamaha MU-2000EX or any of Wink's vinyl singles in that fire trap do you? :)

Re: Games w/ MIDI

Oh I assume it would lol. Just curious if it can match the notes up at least. Even my Yamaha TG100 has a CM-64 map mode. It sounds terrible, but it's there. :)

Re: Misc. games and parts interest check

Again no hard feelings here, hope you make a bundle, your stuff is always mint. ;) I noticed your auctions are all "won't ship abroad." I can't blame you. On forums I only do trades cause international buyers either try to rip you off, or just whine about shipping prices. And yes, that's a...

Re: Games w/ MIDI

Finally got the FMT-403. I only have Genocide2 and Murder Club DX. Both work automatically, and sound great. I'll have to get one of those western LA synth games to test with, besides the MIDI out ports for an external module, I noticed the MIDI card has dip switches. I wonder if one of them will sw...

Re: Misc. games and parts interest check

Looks like I missed out on that Splatterhouse. That's what I get for procrastinating. XD Looks like a proxy is already bidding on it, good luck with the sale! Make those french pay every cent they got. :)

Re: Games w/ MIDI

Did some searching, the games like Might and Magic, Lord of the Rings, etc are all LA Synth based games. The FMT-403's internal MIDI hardware is GS (SC-55). So it won't work directly, but if you connect an external MT-32/CM-32L/CM-64/CM-500 module to the MIDI Out jack on the card, I'd assume that wo...

Re: Games w/ MIDI

Must be a slo-mode bug in the early 486 based machines then. :( Oh well, good news is that I managed to grab a fully working Car Marty for cheap, and it plays the game like a boss. Of course I'm stuck with S-Video over RGB, but it makes a nice, small unit to have on hand for this and any other games...

Re: Games w/ MIDI

Off topic, but I finally aquired a copy of Shadow of the Beast for Towns in mint shape. But it won't boot on my Fresh (even with Fast Mode disabled). :( The CD looks brand new, and my Fresh runs all my other games like a champ. The game does play on my old gray vertical towns, but that thing is on i...

Re: Games w/ MIDI

I don't have Illusion City either. But I do have Murder Club. It simply says, if a MIDI card is detected, it will be used, and game is meant for GS. I've seen 3 MIDI card types on yahoo over the years. Fujitsu had the 403 and 403A. I think the 403 has both midi ports and an SC-55 internally built in...

Been going through the FM Towns library and found a few more games that support MIDI: Genocide Squared The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Might & Magic III Return to Zork Murder Club DX Illusion City I still don't have a Towns MIDI card yet th...

Re: [X68K] Undumped game releases

New Release: Racing Champ by TZD. Mode-7ish style racer, supports analog controls and is a lot of fun with the Cyberstick. I have released the game files, however it has bitchy copy protection, and I haven't been able to produce a working copy, even proemu was unable to break it. Gonna need someone ...

Re: [X68K] Undumped game releases

Yeah CD-ROM is for file transfer. Very quick as I have a driver that works with SX 3.1. Meaning I get a CD-ROM icon on the SX drive tray, and can drag and drop. Helps a lot as i'm in the process of copying about 70 thousand MDX files into my MXDRV juke box :) Annoyingly, DiskExplorer does not like m...

Re: [X68K] Undumped game releases

I'm not positive if the Towns can boot from PCMCIA hence I asked, but I think it's worth a try for the cheap price it will cost me. I don't have a fancy SCSI board in my machine, no room for one unless I ever find a loose XpanderIV... I just use the normal XVI's SCSI ports. Internal for my CF, and e...

Re: [X68K] Undumped game releases

Made a new dump of Master Striker Zero off my original floppy. (yes it is actually called MS Zero on the cover and in the original manual). The old image was a bad dump and is actually missing a voice-over. With the old image the mid-boss has one line of dialog when you beat him, in my new image he ...

Re: [X68K] Are these games undumped?

No issues at all. :) Just yesterday I used Phalanx's self-installer. It recognized both partitions and installed itself perfectly. Only issue with this thing is the HD Busy light is on 100% of the time. I think this is fixed if you directly plug the HD Busy LED into the CF board itself and not the m...

Re: [AC] Last Survivor

Awesome. I had always assumed the board would be better then the FM Towns port, but I never expected the walls to be so much higher then on the Towns. Looks a lot smoother too. ;) I haven't played the Towns version in over a decade. How do you actually turn your character? Is it hold down one of th...

Re: [X68K] Are these games undumped?

Haven't tried it on my Towns yet. But now I certainly will as I was planning to buy another for my Towns later on. :) I have to open my system again anyways as I'm still tweaking my XVI's new HDD image. I can tell you that weird stuff happens when the Town's battery starts to go. I had ear splitting...

Finally switched my XVI over to compact flash, meaning I could finally dump some lost games. See here to download. I may have a few more coming soon. :)

No auto-fire. :) Also the mame dump is a different rom version from my board. Possible differences, on my board and according to the dip sheet, default is Zero stocks. Re: Dork out: Game Goals...

Ok seem to have finally gotten the Round 3 boss down. :) Not too bad really, just very easy to fuck up. But I suppose it's only fair since nothing in the foreground can actually hit you during his fight, and there are no bullets either. Round 4 is a break for sure, very easy to get through without a...

How do these actually connect to a pcb? I'd assume 6 wires, do they all go to the edge? Or do you need a special connector?

Re: Dork out: Game Goals...

How many stages? 6 total. The game is so well made it's a shame it didn't get an official Japanese release. Round 4 is a lot simpler and easier then the first 3, giving you a much deserved break after the first 3, getting your fingers ready for the final 2. I still lose way too much health on the d...
