Re: Games w/ MIDI

Got the Space Harrier CD Audio patch working :) http://youtu.be/k53n_gLeXQ4 Also found another FM Towns MIDI game, D&D Stronghold by Ving. However it only supports RS-MIDI, not IF Boards. I tried using an SC-55mk2 with an official Roland RS-232 Serial cable, but it does not work. I'm guessing I ...

Re: Expat Retirement Plans...

Thanks. Every year I fill out the Foreign Earned income sheet with my 1040. I list my Japanese income and mail in a copy of my Japanese Withholding Receipt. So I fill in zeros for USA taxable income, but the Japanese numbers are there, just N/A. I think my old man is gonna have his tax guy take a lo...

Expat Retirement Plans...

So considering I'm turning 30 this year (fuck me!), I think it's time I invest in a real retirement system. Now I'd like to get a USA IRA, but every year I file 0s on my USA taxes. Now I assume if I had an IRA and still paid no taxes, I'd end up in prison... So anyone here know anything? Is is possi...

Not exactly "undumped" but I finally figured out how to get Angel Dive working 100% :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcUVQ95QTGU Oh, and Mawcaw, I finally stumbled upon a doujin platformer worth playing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ObTbzvU_Wk image is on the creator's site: http://hp....

I saw a loose TimeGal Arcade LD sell on yahoo a year or two ago for about 60,000. LD only, nothing else.

Re: Games w/ MIDI

SuperDeadite could you please make a recording of the stage 2 (Windy Avenue) music from Granada using a real X68K and real CM-32L? :) I have been told in a discussion that Granada has "problem" using Hoot to play the music but there is always a possibility that Hoot emulation is correct a...

Re: MSX Laserdisc games

VHD quality is quite close to LD. And there is Thunder Storm on VHD, which never got a LaserActive port sadly. For DVDs, Road Blaster and Thunder Storm were both released on hybrid DVDs for Windows XP and X68030 computers. (Yes seriously 030 DVD-ROM games, though you only get 7fps on a stock 030, yo...

Re: [X68K] Undumped game releases

Curious Site クリオスサイト So I've been looking for more obscure ass X68k games to track down. And here's one I just discovered existed. Action Puzzle game from 1999. Released on CD-ROM and MO Disk. Other then these shots, there's nothing else about it anywhere, the dev's site is long gone. Really cool th...

Don't know of any real platformers. Well XX Files R has platforming, but I don't think it really counts.

[X68K] Direct-X found!

Finally, after all these years, I have found an original copy of the elusive Direct-X.
Released in 1998 by PYX. This game isn't even 10 mins long, but it's absolutely badass.

Watch the video for everything you'll want to know. :D

Re: Retro-[ish] game shops in Tokyo

Mandarake is my favorite of the big boys. Condition is 2nd to none, and their prices are usually cheaper then FuckPotato.

If you don't care about things like spine cards, Suruguya's online shop is the place to go.

[X68K] Y2, original copy found.

Wonderful Pulstar style doujin shooter. This is one of the games where the copy protection has never been broken, hence playing it the proper way requires an original copy, this is one I thought I'd never find. If anyone has any idea how to break the protection let me know, I've tried all hack tools...

That's "Project Moon" lol. Anyway got the DVD in today, and I can confirm that yes, the disk image is in fact on the DVD, and just to be sure, this image and the one I was already sent are identical.

Re: Request for all Tokyoites

Yes I purchased it. :) But ironically about 12 hours after agreeing to the deal, a lurker and fellow X68K fan contacted me as he was able to get the game's image from some Japanese collector. So while I don't have the DVD yet, I've already gotten the game. Waste of money, but meh it's will make an i...

Request for all Tokyoites (All good :) )

So it's recently been brought to my attention, that the Triangle Service Pres actually released his old X68000 doujin shooter "Project Moon" in disk image format on the INH Shooting Love DVD. This game is still not freely available anywhere, and I'm trying to track it down. All you have to...

Re: Games w/ MIDI

First thing to do is pull out your HDD/CF. You'll notice that it attaches by a weird little SCSI adapter cable thing that separates the power and data connections. While on the mobo side it's just one giant plug. Pull that cable from the mobo itself. If you pull the drive, but leave that cable attac...

Re: [X68K] Undumped game releases

Just tried it with XM6, worked fine (Note XM6 will bitch about file size, but ignore it). Can't make it work in High Speed though, as it seems to lack the "eject disk" option... No idea on TypeG, as all that does is crash on me....

Re: [X68K] Undumped game releases

On the real machine, you just load a game, then eject the disks, put Useful in drive 1, and reset. It gives you some Japanese text, hit space bar a couple times, and then it loads right up. All sprites that were in RAM are displayed instantly. Though this might not work on an emulator depending on w...
