Re: Games w/ MIDI

Without the battery, I can't use an HDD. But with no HDD connected, and no battery it runs everything off the disk perfectly fine (well minus Shadow of the Beast). It uses a CR2450. It's located next to the PCMCIA reader, meaning you have to disassemble the entire thing, hence I just pulled mine out...

Re: Games w/ MIDI

Yeah awhile ago I thought my HDD died, but then I realized the battery was dead. With the battery removed I reformatted the drive, and it worked perfectly I could install and run games OS straight off of it. But as soon as I turned the computer off for 5 mins, the HDD was no longer readable. I repea...

Re: Games w/ MIDI

actually I have 38mb total. So 4mb mobo, 2mb in slot 1, and 32mb in slot 2. I guess that's my issue, I should reverse the chips. I need to replace the infernal battery in my machine anyways, keep putting it off. Did you ever get the CF board working in that thing? From my experiments with normal SCS...

The "Useful" sprite export program is on the Rush disk. (Dual Format, Use Dr. 0 for Rush, 1 for Useful)

Re: Games w/ MIDI

Interesting. I have 36mbs. 6mb (I think, does the Fresh have mobo embedded?), and a 32mb.

Will have to mess around with this, but typically I just run it on the Car Marty, S-Video ain't half bad.

In regards to Banpresto pcbs... What does a legit Japanese Oni go for these days? I'm guessing a lot as I've never seen one. :(

This looks quite cool actually. Can you build actual brothels? :)

Still won't beat "Z" though. Nothing will ever beat that game's insane pacing.

Re: [X68K] Undumped game releases

Hah, I'm using normal XM6 2.06. I have no idea what all the different emus, XM6, HighSpeed, TypeG actually do :P. As this and AMSII are the only games I don't play on the real machine. I still use a CRT monitor here so no issue on full screen either. :)

Re: [X68K] Undumped game releases

http://www.sendspace.com/file/pkeqvh For fun, I actually used the floppies. So my save state will need them, no HDimage needed. Included 2 save states, one is for the menu, one takes you to the sound test (as the glitchy menu is a pain in the ass to mess with). Note, the midi format data is sent wh...

Re: [X68K] Undumped game releases

X68k games look for a midi interface board when they boot up, then load the required midi driver when they see it. Meaning you have to setup MIDI in the emulator settings before launching the game. The original save-state didn't have MIDI enabled so it doesn't work. I simply turned MIDI on first, th...

Re: CA Production

None of Zoom's games are above B-grade quality imo. But I do enjoy the Towns versions of the Genos. Towns Geno 1 is a big improvement over the original version.

Re: [X68K] Undumped game releases

Yeah if you use his save state, exit the game, then relaunch it (type LT and push enter) it will kick you out at the copy protection check like always. It's just a save state, though how he got that save state is a question I'd love to have an answer too. As for the game itself, the MIDI sounds quit...

Re: [X68K] Undumped game releases

Yeah, but LT wasn't cracked. He just supplied a save state to skip past the copy protection phase. Meaning you can play it on an emulator, but not on the real machine still... :(

Re: CA Production

Hmm seems they were also involved with the original X68000 version of Genocide. It's not mentioned on any websites, but if you boot the game their logo appears right after the Zoom one. However it only appears in the original version. It is not in the Towns/PCE versions.

Re: [DS/3DS] Monitor Output

I hated Contra 4, but mostly because I kept dieing from the screen gap. Beyond that the design just felt like it was pure pandering to NES/SNES fans. The fami cart versions are personal favorites, but they are not difficult in the slightest. Maybe challenging at first, but damn easy imo. Shattered S...

Found some more undumped stuff. Nothing too exciting but Sound SX is a lot of fun to mess with. Still looking for Music SX though... Haven't had time to take apart the system yet, so no dump yet (sorry Macaw). http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r260/SuperDeadite/PICT1261_zpsa3147de9.jpg photobucket

Re: Games w/ MIDI

PLGs are assigned to a part, so you can override the default part quite easily. But if a reset message is sent, you'd have to redo it. PLGs can be used in XG, GM, and Perfom modes. Not in GS mode.
