That looks to be pretty interesting - it always surprises me what Japanese PSX games are constantly lurking just under the radar. I just recently learned about a 'forgotten' shooter by Takumi called Night Raid. I managed to track down a copy for a pretty reasonable price, and I'm pretty impressed - ...

It's rather sad - after such a good run, (Ikaruga, Border Down, Shiki 2, Psyvriar 2, Gradius V) most of the recent releases (Raiden III, Trizeal, Homura, Chaos Field, etc.) have been rather large letdowns. If it weren't for the ubiquitous Cave, the genre might be in dire straits right now. That said...

Twinkle Star Sprites La Petite Princesse: Any good?

For anyone who has it, is this game worth the ‾$60 it seems to go for on eBay? Or would I be better off just hunting down the Dreamcast or Saturn version? And speak of those two, which would be the better one to get?

I hope this one makes it to consoles (please, another Gamecube port!!) eventually - the Shikigami series has got to be one of my favorites, and I know there's no way I'll ever be able to lay hands on the arcade version.

A fellow named Kayama has done some VERY excellent translations of the first four games, complete with all the choices available during almost every LIPS scene. Highly recommended, and probably the closest we'll ever come to getting the game in English (although FUNimation has reportedly been trying...

That's what I had sortof feared, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. Today's computers not being powerful enough to accurately emulate a PS2 wasn't something I thought about, although I assumed my rig might have some trouble - the videocard and ram are up to snuff, but I sortof thought an 866 PII...

Yeah, I'm not touching a line of credit if I can at all help it. Overdraft charges suck (though I try not to incur them on a regular basis), but at least a check card draws directly from money I have (or don't as is most often the case). I'm going to be in debt enough from school loans, I don't need...

Freeloader disc & new model Gamecube

Maybe someone can help me here. A couple of months back, I managed to score a sealed Shikigami No Shiro 2 box set on eBay for $20 shipped, and was eagerly awaiting its arrivial. I have a Freeloader v1.06b that I purchased last summer after buying a PAL copy of Doushin The Giant, and it (the Freeload...

Where are my manners? I've been away from this board for so long I forgot to check in on the last thing I bought. The Sakura Taisen PS2 set arrived in perfect condition, thanks a ton! The DVD that came in the set was alone worth the price I paid, and more - it was a really neat documentary on the se...

PS2 Emulation (Legit question! Not piracy!)

So here's the deal: I purchased Mushihimesama on PS2 (and also have a decent back catalog of other games, but I don't care about them right now), but my PS2 has been dead and gone since last summer. I was able to borrow my roommate's PS2 when the game first arrived and boot the game with some Swap M...

I figure I should warn everyone about something Play-Asia pulled on me recently. The short of it: My copy of the regular edition of Mushihimesama arrived the other day. The game essentially cost me $160. The long of it: I placed Mushihimesama on preorder back in May. At the time, I was flat broke, b...

Yahoo! Japan would be your best bet, unless you have a friend in the country who can source it for you. http://www.akibado.com does YJ bidding, but if you create an account with them they can also go out and scour the local area for you. It's highly unlikely you'll find it on eBay - I looked for ove...

Looks like they've still got some bugs to iron out - that text wrapping in one of the screens looks particularly hideous. Overall though, I like the graphical look, as it really brings me back to the look of the originals.

They'd have to be real Zippos for that price! Although the Japanese are generally pretty good about using authentic goods as opposed to knockoffs. Either way, with a price like that I won't be getting my hands on one of those anytime soon. That's like a brand new Gamecube, right there!

This little site called Pixelcorps has made up a really nifty Ikaruga design for a shirt; apparently once in the past the guy did a run that was immensely popular. He's currently taking orders until July 17th. http://www.norefuge.6x.to/

Those look pretty cool! I think the Teikoku one has to definately be the neatest looking of them all. How much is Sega Direct selling them for? I can't imagine it would be under $50 - limited Zippo releases there seem to go for a vertiable mint. :(

Damn, that's a nice ESP Galuda image you've got there, GP. I got a wild hair to make my own arcade stick a few years back, and even photoshoppped a nice Guilty Gear X background for it, but the fact that to properly make one requires unfettered access to a woodshop kindof killed that idea, so I just...

Sweet, she looks as loopy as the rest of the characters in that series. By the way, Robo Ky isn't really all that new - he was unlockable in the original Guilty Gear XX, and was a normal playable character in XX#reload (I think.)

So overall, is it worth getting? By the way, is ESP Ra.De available on any consoles at all? I've got it in Mame and it's pretty darn fun, and it would be nice to play it on a real console instead of my computer..

Thought it was supposed to have a lot of hentai action in it too. It was like, "blow shit up with giant robots, watch hentai cutscene, rinse and repeat". Other than that I have no clue. Is it still coming for the DC?

Yay, my first post! Nice forums you have here, GaijinPunch. My question is, is ESPGaluda on the PS2 any good? The concept looks interesting and one cannot deny Cave's supremacy in the shooter genre, but I thought it would be best to check. Also, I take it this contest is not open to people in the US...
