All things considered, you probably should have learned English conversational skills from someone other than Icycalm. You probably should learn the proper usage of the transitive form of the verb "learn". Either that, or the meaning of "skills". Before giving conversation advic...

Your mom doesn't, either.

It's terrible.

The game is terrible, but its visuals aren't at all. Compared to Border Down, Radirgy, Trizeal and the usual contemporary stuff, that is.

Your missing the point. What matters is how well designed the graphics are. MSX and Famicom games of course can look great if the graphics have had some effort put into them. Gradius Rebirth just looks like a cheap hack using graphics from previous Gradius's. It's even worse than that. Check the sn...

My comments to zinger were an attempt to discourage elitest trolling within the shooting community. Your efforts however involve convincing Gaijin Punch that graphics should take top priority, long after he stated other aspects of games can hold equal or greater importance. Then you get cranky when...

I don't see it. Graphics get the game in the door, the mechanics dictate if it gets replayed (or finished). So you only enjoy the graphics the very first time you play the game? Once it "gets in the door" you don't care about graphics, no matter if you only saw a small part of the game......

You specifically asked "what makes OS such a fun game". Didn't say I liked the mechanics more than the graphics (definitely not true). Just saying why I finished playing it, and why I might play through it again. There's a contradiction if you say the graphics have a stronger appeal for y...

I liked the way the game played... as not so clearly stated. ("It played like Princess Crown"). OS's mechanics have a stronger appeal for you than its graphics then? Never thought I could find anybody with such an opinion, but hey! Had it been some type of turn-based strategy w/ a similar...

Graphics never make a game "fun". It gets the games foot in the door, so to speak. To be honest, for about the first half I enjoyed the game, but knew what to expect, as I figured it would be a lot like Princess Crown. It was cool playing the different characters, but not the same bosses ...

Sure. It was fun.

And what's what makes of OS such a fun game, in your opinion? In other words, would you say that if OS were like it is but had say, Maximo's graphics, it'd still be "fun" or much the contrary it'd be "dull"?

III had the most impressive visuals in a domestic shooting game for its moment, both art-wise and from a techncal point of view.

II (computer version) was also visually superlative then.

Prettiness makes fun what otherwise would be "dull", though. That's the case of Thunder Force and 99% of (fun) domestic video-games.

Can anyone do a proper translation of the latest entry about ThunderForce on this page? I ran it through a few translators, but it was still sort of garbled. It seemed to me like a gung-ho statement by Sega about reviving STG's, but I can't say for sure: http://zolge.sega.jp/ UPDATE: Notice at the ...
