That opening sequence with the ogres and the people waving at you is about as Joker Jun-y as it gets. Glad to see him back.

My only gripe so far is the switching left and right. Every crusty old hori I've played that does that just loses me right away.

GP, is there a way to implement an ignore feature? I don't post a lot here but it would make for a more enjoyable experience to not have to deal with passive aggressive insults killing the fun. I know that's how the internet likes to roll, but I'm over it and just want to talk games and nerdy shit i...

GP, I don't suppose you'd be willing to pick me up a Futari DVD while you're there? I've been waiting for months for one to be announced, glad to see it's finally being done. I'm hoping it'll be of INH quality but doubt it considering the so-so reviews Galuda II's Official DVD got (never seen it mys...

6 stages. The last level has some rough spots, but the last boss is more manageable than X or 3's.

Yea the first is definitely the easiest of the series. 3 is generally regarded as the toughest because of stage 5, but I think MS4 is hardest.

My score for the first with one life lost:

1,059,350 - Kaneda - ALL

Do any of the difficulties (Easy, Normal, Hard) on the Wii edition of the Anthology correspond to the MVS difficulty, or did you just have the MVS versions in mind? I was thinking just versions that offered MVS difficulty, so some console ports wouldn't apply, but if you have scores I'll put them u...

The writing is real easy actually. The quality of the character recognition differs between softwares, but the Sonomama jishyo amazes me sometimes with its ability to guess what I want out of my often garbled handwriting. You can also adjust the time you get for writing; I have Sonomama on fast whic...

I have Kanken DS and really like it. Definitely a stiff challenge for non-natives trying to brush up on their kanji skills (especially the games), but it's good for all levels. It's also really anal about stroke order which to me is a plus. Some characters I've known for years but have apparently be...

It does actually. I never used it because my replays always sucked.

How about kanji you don't need to know? I have Heisig's Rembering the Kanji III for upper level proficiency, but I'd like to check out a book or website of trivial, needless kanji.
