10 years in the making. From lowly credit-feeding on the Dreamcast back in high school to a bumbling 2-ALL, I finally slayed Gunbird 2.

Now back to Castlevania for real. ;)

Took a break to study for the JLPT I failed in July, but now that I'm on my summer break I will resume where I left off with CVIII. Long and hard, just how I like 'em.

I got to the last boss of Gunbird 2's loop yesterday. This game is terrifying to me from 2-4 on, although I managed to no-miss to 2-6 on one run. After an hour or so of this, my girlfriend said I looked like hell and asked what was wrong. I felt like someone who just survived a car accident and had ...

I haven't beaten Dimahoo, partly because I don't care for it much but it's also just so hard. Good work clearing that one.

One of these days I'd like to 2-ALL a Cave game. The easiest is probably Daifukkatsu, but I'd like to do DDP since it was one of the first games that got me into this genre.

Added: Akai Katana Raiden Fighters 2 & Jet Xexex I'm in the mood to try to pad my list with 1-credit-clears. I think Randorama holds the unofficial Western record with 113 arcade shooters beat, might be kind of fun to chase that. Edit: My count is at 56. Long way to go... ahahahahah. I think th...

Unou no Tatsujin Soukai! Machigai Museum 1 and 2 are pretty cool.

You have to find the differences between two pictures in a short amount of time. Funner than it sounds. They're made by Namco so there's a little fan service thrown in as well (Soul Calibur, Pacman).

SuperDeadite wrote:Kaneda, Nakano has Time Gal for 45,000yen? If it's complete I'd totally pay you to pick it up and mail it to me. ( I live in Shiga-ken). That is one of the last LD games I'm still after.

Let me check to see if it's still there for that price. What's a complete one come with?

It was the Laseractive LD. The Playstation port seems to be going up in value a bit as well. When I bought it 5 years ago (at the same store I think) it was like 4000 but now I see it for about double that.

I'm pretty sure Robot Carnival is on DVD...

GP, I think that was a good friend of mine that got the Daicon IV. He never could find a working player for us to watch it on and has since sold it, but definitely a cool item. Speaking of awesome pricey LDs, every time I go to Mandarake in Nakano I stare at the Time Gal in the window and its hefty ...

This thread could also be titled, "Shit that makes me :( ." Can't believe they're going through with this. Go ahead and rip off the plot and call it something else, but why drag the good Akira name down this way? I'm also disappointed in Otomo in allowing this to go on, but it's not very J...

Castlevania Adventure has really grown on me. I can 1 life clear it without much trouble now. It's old and slow, but only 4 stages, and stage 3 is one of the best stages in the entire series in my opinion. And I thought Haunted Castle was bad. This game sucks in all the ways games can. Unresponsive...

I was going to play JPN Castlevania 3 because I want to play the "original" versions of each game, but if its too scrubby I'll play the US one. Strange that the Western versions are harder, that's usually not the case, but maybe that speaks to how much more popular it is there than in Japa...

Absolutely. (I take it you mean Bloodlines?) The games I'll be playing, in order they were released: Castlevania (FC) Vampire Killer (MSX2) Simon's Quest Haunted Castle Castlevania The Adventure (Gameboy, yuck) Castlevania III Castlevania II Belmont's Revenge (GB) Super Castlevania IV Kid Dracula Ak...

GP, I think you`d beat the arcade game in no time at all. It really is deceptively easy (the Japanese one that is). I`m looking forward to when I get to the 16-bit stuff in the series. The Famicom games are good, but finally giving Bloodlines and Drac XX quality time are part of why I started this `...

I didn't like the MSX2 game because it just felt like an inferior version of the Famicom game. Uglier graphics (although they're sharper), worse controls, tacked-on exploring elements...just not very good. If it were an entirely new game I would give it more credit, but it's subpar Castlevania.

Yea, PCE Dracula X was the only one (before now) that I had beaten on a credit. Probably the easiest, but also perhaps the best. On Saturday I beat both the MSX2 Vampire Killer and Haunted Castle on a coin apiece. I was surprised that I beat Haunted Castle so quickly since it seems so hard, but ther...

Beat the original Castlevania for Famicom on a credit and am moving on to the crustier Vampire Killer for MSX. At first I thought it was a complete mess but I'm starting to warm up to it.

1 down, 13 to go.

I've been in the mood for getting back into a console game (since all I do is arcade stuff) and have decided to tackle the Castlevania series. My goal is to beat every traditional 2D Castlevania game (meaning no 3D platformers or the SotN style games, except for maybe SotN because it rules so hard)....

I tried to go by Hammerin' Harry and Mr. Driller, but it never took. Rapid Hero and Double Dribble were the ones that stuck.

Finally, the Revenge of the Sith review. If you haven't seen his Phantom Menace review, I'd highly recommend it (provided you're a nerd and you have some affection for the original Star Wars trilogy).

I remember when he used to sell games for ridiculous prices to other members on his forum. Star Parodier for like $100, etc. and insisted that the extra cost was because he was so good at finding ones in real nice condition and they get a little japjac business card with each purchase. Once, one of ...
