Re: PC Engine system card confusion and other Qs

The first model Duos sometimes have problems with laser gears or capacitors, but the R models are holding up pretty well.

Re: PC Engine system card confusion and other Qs

Yeah the RX 6B-pad works on any PCE. With the CD add-ons it depends which one you get. If you get the CD-ROM² "Interface Unit" (the white briefcase thing), then yes, you're gonna need the Arcade Card Pro, or at least the System Card 3.0 (Super System Card) to play Super CD-Roms. If you get...

Re: PC Engine system card confusion and other Qs

Yeah, R or RX are the best. There is no difference other than superficial design changes and the 6B pad for the RX. You're probably going to want to get an RGB-mod for your system though. With a Duo you can play 98% of the games out of the box. You'll only need the Arcade Card Duo if you want to pla...

Re: Neo-Geo Thread

It was the first Neo Geo game, so I'm sure it just had a comparatively low print run, as the system wasn't widespread yet.

Re: The Official WTF are YOU playing right now thread

Despite the Strider series being my second favorite series (Ninja Gaiden is #1), I only just recently downloaded the new Strider from XBL. After playing it for a few hours, well, it's okay I guess. I like the new gadgets like the plasma catapult and the various cipher power-ups. My main gripe is th...

Re: Neo-Geo Thread

Hehe, I've been looking for an MVS Magician Lord for a while as well. Doesn't pop up too often, I'm afraid. I can really recommend Musashi Ganryuuki, if you like your Ninja sidescroll action. Not anywhere near the greatness of the Super Shinobis, Hagane, Cannon Dancer and Strider 2, but pretty solid...

You could get a Pilotwings carts for ¥50 and play the helicopter mission while listening to the music from Metal Hawk! ;)

Oh, that's sad. Do you know why they're closing? Went there earlier this year, and it was really crowded, so it seemed turnover was alright, but maybe rent/maintenace became a factor?

Re: [PS3/PSV] Dragon's Crown

So how are you guys liking your Dragon's Crown? I have to say, my initial reaction was that it wasn't arcadey enough for me, but now I'm quite enamored with it. Really enjoying the questing, and they put some nice challenge in there so that if you chain stages, you can increase your bonusses. Graphi...

Re: So what do you play or collect...?

In a nutshell, I collect Japanese games starting from the 8/16-Bit era. Mainly console and arcade. I prefer playing on original hardware over emulation and I only buy games that I want to play. Not a collector just for collecting's sake. Consoles that get particular attention are SFC, MD, PCE, SS, P...

Re: GP's music picks

GP, what's your take on Disclosure's album? I'm totally enamored with it right now. Especially this track that really has that early 90s Detroit vibe going (the video is also a cool hommage to the Techno city) but adds incredibly slick and "trancey" production: https://www.youtube.com/watc...

Beat Easy Mode as well:

CIT - ALL - 5488885

It's really cool that you actually get an entirely different, but still good ending on easy.
