Shikigami no Shiro III Soundtrack has been announced. Listed on HMV Japan's website, release date seems to be set for 03.24, for a price of 2940 yen.

In other news, Alfa System hasconfirmed that the game will be playable at the AOU Show next week.

I am really looking forward to this even though I haven't played the second game yet.

There is an Alpha System game coming out on 360. It's listed in the Famitsu release schedule. It's probably this one.

But what will they do about Microsoft's requirement, that all games must run at 720p widescreen minimum?

I seriously doubt it'll be this one. Every Type-X game until now has gone to the PS2, and this one should be no different. We shall see though.

So what the hell is that game then? I wish they would refrain from announcing that they are working on a game, before they are ready to tell us at least what it is.

I bet Msoft pushes them to make the vague announcements.

AOU's the one you're trying to attend, right GaijinPunch?

You'll have to give me the lowdown on Shiki III if you get a chance at it.

Right now, seems like a good show.

Pink Sweets
Shikigami III (low expectations though)
and Virtua Fighter 5

Unfortunately, the queue for all these will probably be an hour each. VF5 will be on location test in Ikebukuro Gigo (a place I'm supposed to go to meet someone anyway) until the 13th, so I'll likely try it out there.

This has been released, and is playable at Hey!, and other arcades. Overall, the lack of detail seems to be more debatable than previous Type-X releases, but there are some stages where they clearly slapped some shit together. The characters look pretty cool, and I love the <i>wa-fuu</i> that has given the series it's charm. I will pick up a port, but likely not give it any love in the arcades.

According to Okubo Alfa Station, a game center in Okubo, Alfa System will be sending out fixed ROMS of Shikigami no Shiro III, which address a problem with the score trial function.

How to use hidden character, Meunhihauzen (sp?)
-At character selection screen, press the cursor down, when on Fumiko (and press start?)

Extreme Mode
Insert coin, and enter the following at the title screen:
UADDLRUDBBAA+B. If you hear the sound, it worked. For the last A+B, pressing it again once or twice will result in enemy bullets going twice as fast, or three times as fast, respectively.

Another charater added at the official website. "Jiyuu naru Kaze no Hito". I believe this is one of the unlockable characters.

Yeah I have the US version and it is indeed quite hillarious. To be honest the voices kept me comming back, and the game is a steal at its $10 price tag. I have a friend with an actual Japanese copy, and the dialog doesn't make sense in either version. I gave up trying to piece the plot togheather a long time ago.

I have the Gamecube version (sup figurine collectors) and I'm so glad there's an option to remove all text and voice from the game. The american version is terrible, but mostly for the voices.

Shooting games have always failed miserably when it comes to plots, I believe. I can't think of one (perhaps Ikaruga, I highly doubt it it contained much of a visible "story" however) shooting title which was based around the story. Most of them are just "save the world from an endless amount of ships" or "x person is taking over x world, need to save world, brb."

Am I wrong in thinking that Sony of America does not allow any Japanese voices to be in any North American games? I believe I read that somewhere. As much as I hate what Tecmo stands for (usually) I must give credit for leaving Japanese voices and text in Ninja Gaiden.

I know that Disgaea had Japanese as a language option, so its probably not a law with Sony....I imagine though for most game's target audience, having a Japanese language option isn't worthwhile. And maybe even a little scary...you know, its not in American.

Yeah, IIRC, XS themselves said they were forced to dub the game into English at SCEA's behest. As did SNK when they brought over KOFMI. I haven't heard of them preventing a language option though; laziness could be the cause of that.
