The irony of course is that Recap instantly self-disqualified his "quality posting" assertation, by making that utterly pointless provocation with his last post...

That's indeed one of the differences between your internet person and mine, you know -- while you do little more than lame insult attempts, I do qualilty posting.

Have you finished bitching around guys? ^^

I don't see the point in this, neither why nor what it is all about. But still, fun to read.

Neither did Citcelaid, but there you have his uncalled "I was here" post, anyway.

I was asking you not to provoke users in this forum and poison the atmosphere. That is indeed called for!

You already have 4 pointless posts in this thread now...

Sorry, ave, I'm not too familiar w/ JP exclusives :(

ave wrote:Non-exclusive but nonetheless good games:

Blast Dozers
Goldeneye 007
Perfect Dark
Starfox 64
Excitebike 64
Wave Race 64
1080ツー Snowboarding
F-Zero X
Super Mario 64...

You are totally right about Blast Dozers. I love that game. I'd also add:

Mario Kart 64 - solid, as usual
Tetrisphere - uses tetris pieces, but gameplay is chain based
Pokemon Puzzle League - Panel De Pon at it's finest! 3D mode is actually fun :P
Dr. Mario 64 - 4 player Dr. Mario action
Wetrix - nice little puzzle distraction. Think Rampart only w/ water sort of?

Mario Kart 64 doesn't age as well as I thought.

I liked Tetrisphere a lot back in the days.
Anyone knows where Dr. Mario 64 was developed? This could maybe an addition to the "western only games w/jpn developer"-thread as it was US-only ^_^
Weird though, I thought Dr. Mario were very popular on FC and GB (don't know why but well)?!

Never liked the Dr. Mario games.....

There was some Yoshi game on the N64 that was well-liked. Also, the Goemon game was really fun, its worth a try.

LGB is right, Mario 64 doesn't age well, nor does Waverace 64.

You think so? I get a bit tired of Mario 64's collectathon-as-means-of-progression when all I want to do is run around in the levels, but I still have fun breaking out both of those titles. Sure, Waverace looks a lot blockier than I remember it when I was drooling over the in-store demo machine in my youth, but its rudimentary wave physics still make the races an interesting challenge--you're not just fighting your opponent, but the course itself.

I, too, have a soft spot for the N64.

The two Zeldas
Starfox 64
Virtual Pro Wrestling 2
Sin and Punishment
Super Mario 64
Mario Golf 64
Pilotwings 64

are all good, but a few of those are pure gold--I'd have to say that VPW2 is the best 3D puroresu game I've ever played.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that even though I haven't played it yet, Famista 64 is good, too.

I guess your best bet is to get a PS2->N64 adapter. I don't really know of any 3rd party controllers that aren't also crap.

"Super Pad 64 Plus" is quite excellent.
(I had an image, but still a "new user", so couldn't post it)

don't get it confused with the terrible "Super Pad 64".

I've been really satisfied with the Hori Pad Mini:
Image
It's a lot more compact than the normal N64 controller, and the joystick is much more Gamecube-like in its feel, with a rubberized top rather than slick plastic ridges. My two complaints are that the R/L and Z buttons are quite close together (there are two Z buttons) and that it's not really as fun for the games where the stock N64 controller's psuedo-gun shape helps out, such as 007.

The controller seems to be pretty scarce, though--I rarely see it on auction sites, and I only saw one or two in Akihabara in all the times I was there. Well worth getting though. There seem to be two on YJ! right now, but they're both green, as is mine. Come to think of it, I think the ones I saw in Akiba were also green. I wonder if any other colors exist in the real world.
