Conversion or... you managed to get one of the originals?

On a tangent, is that the System E artwork or from the show? And this looks nothing like the flyer I have... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Fanta ... eflyer.PNG

Made a conversion.

That's the System E art set. The flyer you linked to is for the Famicom version.

Ahh, that's the single game I'd be okay owning a conversion of. I've bugged Junoman on and off for a few years to make me one, still haven't seen any progress though.

Looked like the System E artwork, I couldn't remember where I'd seen the FZ2DX art - found it again though: http://www.smspower.org/forums/files/37_255.jpg. Keep getting outbid or not having the cohones to open bidding on the SysE set that keeps looping YAJ.

Congrats on fulfilling that dream, Shou. Too bad Sega are being such nipples about it.

So, I let them borrow my Bubble Bobble II proto and Command War but no one seemed interested in either so I have taken them back.

My Desert Breaker and Neo XYX are up there at the moment.

Thinking of putting Leland's Brute Force up for play.

1. How do you like NEO XYX
2. Is it popular at all in TRY?

I actually didn't even try before handing it off as my MVS is in storage in a hard to reach place.

Income is pretty good but may be due to the fact that Try is the only arcade around here with it.

Stopped in at Try today because I wanted to play some Gradius and HEY only has the POS Gradius III. Not sure if I'm just spoiled because of the autofire option on the PSP Gradius Collection, but their copy of the original seemed hard as balls for some reason. I'm still not very good at playing for score but I can generally land just a little bit north of 200,000; today I wasted quite a few credits eating it at those goddamn volcanoes at the end of the first level, which was doubly frustrating because that section is usually a breeze. Am I just weak and lazy from autofire? Do people actually seriously play the game without autofire or at least having missiles and shot linked to the same button?

And I'm sure someone else has answered this somewhere, but what exactly is the deal with their special version of Gradius 2 they have there?

Huh, turns out my difficulty problem with Gradius comes from playing the PSP version with the widescreen setting, instead of the arcade screen size. I now suck on all platforms.

Put up the Chinese only Contra: Evolutionary Revolution up for play. Should be there for at least a month.

So, I have been hanging out on the tower's 8th floor a lot lately. After all my years living here I don't know why I never bothered going there. It's a lot less crowded and less noisy than HEY, and it has way more action games. If they sold booze and food there I probably wouldn't go home.

I noticed that some of the cabs had signs on them that they were "request cabs." How does one go about requesting a board? I didn't see anything on their site. I really want to play Irem 's Kengou. I saw a vid of it and it looked pretty cool. Anyone have any impressions?

There is a little table near the fire escape stairs where you can request games.

Cool, thanks for that. Do they change them out on a schedule or just when they stop pulling in coins? I will probably be there tomorrow afternoon / evening so I will look for the request forms.

They change the games based upon income performance. The head of Try Tower quit recently so things have changed up a bit though.

I see. Are we talking good changes or bad changes? If you can't say, I understand.

Coincidentally, my Cadash PCB will be delivered tomorrow. :)

I make my way to Try's 8th floor about two or three times a month. It's a little dark, a little dirty, and there are nothing but old farts like me in there. It's perfect.

I walked right by it last time I was there (September). Should have gone in, but my time in Akiba was literally to walk through as I was staying with a friend just down the street. Next time I'll try to put some time in for old times sake. Try was definitely preferred over anything else in Akiba.

TRY has a twin stick Assault set up right now. It brought back all kinds of kick ass memories of Aladdin's Castle.

After I reminded them, they got their Night Striker cab fixed and will put it back up for play.

Assault is such a blast to play, wish I could go there now! Whoever is in the area, don't miss out if you haven't tried it!

By the way, was there ever a sit-down/deluxe version of the Assault cab? I suppose not?
