[AC] Ninja Ryukenden 2

Postby Shou » Thu Mar 14, 2013 4:48 am

I think most people here know it was on location test in summer '94 on MVS then canceled but came across some more text searching for something else so thought I'd leave it here.

Interesting to learn that Yumekobo's Karate Ninja Sho wasn't the only canceled ninja beatemup for the Neo.

So why they heck did Tecmo decide Eight Forces needed to be released hahaha.

Eight Forces was made on a PCB that Tecmo had leftover stock on so that's probably why while this would've cost a whole MVS run. Hoping for it to get leaked someday.

Yeah, would be a fun one. Wonder how poor the damage calculations were. Seems like a rather lame reason to not go forward.

I'm sure belt scroll games in 1994 weren't selling at all so that's the more likely reason.

You'd think that someone would have taken a picture back then though. I just want to know what it looks like.

So I had drinks with someone who worked at Tecmo back in the day, after much alcohol, it was revealed that they threw out a bunch of classic stuff during a power outage one day including an Argos no Senshi belt used for promos!

However, I did get that the Neo Geo game is backed up but only accessible by PC98s. Since I have a PC98, I've asked to see if I can recover the code....

Yes, indeed. Shou did it again.
But I garnered only 2 pages of drama a neo-geo.com so far I'm a little bit disappointed of them :D

I couldn't help but chime in on that thread lol.

That fact that I've seen Mad Motor sell for under 100 bucks, but omg neogeo 50k+ (A Last Odyssey proto is rumored to have been sold for 60k)

Anyway, if the Gaiden 2 source is actually a finished game, I wonder if Tecmo would be willing to let the game be released in any way at all. If not, then I suppose the best we can hope for is a 'leak' ;)

The code would be of the location test version. I love how they are a bunch of doubters over there. Of course, officially, it wouldn't be released...

I wonder how many of the levels the test version had in place

Well, at this point, can you blame them? Haha.

Any news?

We could also start a fundraiser i that would give him more push to dig for it. At least I would do it, dunno about others?
