Nah, nothing like those games, it's an event only version of a fighting game which has significant graphic changes.

D'oh, completely forgot the thing was yesterday. Not that it really matters, because I was sprinting to finish the final paper of the term in time to make last train, so it's not like I had time. Plus, a couple of the assholes in my department thought it was a great idea to buy an electric shaved ice maker and bring it to the study room and start grinding the fuck away while people are trying to finish said fucking paper, so by that time my patience with large groups of people was shot anyway. Oh well.

Now that I've got nothing better to do than sit around and sweat, though, I'd love to try and swing some sort of Tokyo area meet-up if others are done, once GP gets back from his smelly hippie drum circle.

STV spotted buying up the Darius 1 posters today. Apparently he has about 16 of them.

If that's true, I wouldn't be surprised. How did he get so many though...? :x

2 days left of the fair too. I wonder how many he will end up with...

BAH! It's just not fair...so I bought this instead, which arrived this morning. :D

B2 ThunderForce V poster (the art is the first post card you see in the photo above) and a collection of Thunderforce glossy art cards. ;)

It's still not my beloved Darius :( , but TecnoSoft are just awesome so it's all good. Need to find a B2 frame now though!

Very nice Ian... you know I have a soft spot for the Thunder Force series, so I like this very much.

That actually arrived quite quickly then too.

Yep. 3 days EMS, fastest yet I think!

Talking of Darius posters price gouging, here's another auction on YAJ. Seller wants a minimum of ¥18,000 for the set now. I wonder if it's STV as the same seller sold the same set last week...

It's loosely linked with the Darius games. In Darius Burst for example, one of the bosses turns in to the main character (the metal dragon) from Syvalion during the boss battle.

Also there are some bits littered throughout the game that look like they came from other Darius titles, the 'nucleus' items look like they belong in Metal Black. An orange tinted Silver Hawk ship appears in Level 5 of the game too, at this time it also shows you helping to save the people on the planet Darius.

There's a few other bits of trivia that tie the series together, although it's odd really because the game was actually made by the bloke that made Bubble Bobble. :? I would have understood better perhaps if it was made by the Darius team.

Still cool though! :)

Also, not mentioned in the Darius Wiki, but the boss Galst Vic in Darius Force is an enemy character in Syvalion.

Here's the afforementioned cameo:

Sorry guys, I had a chance to pop by one of the Taito arcades yesterday right before it starting pouring out and picked up 1 Darius 1 poster. There was no line but I couldn't carry more than that without it getting soaked.

Nice work Mr. Shoes! What was the fair like? Anything to see and do, or was it just a 'queue up for posters and that's it' kind of fair?

It's not a fair as such, you go to the counter and buy them, that's it.

Ah that is a bag of crap! Was the game centre attendant not even dressed up in some sort of really amateur-looking King Fossil mascot costume? :(

Or, when you were next in line, and you approached the counter an alarm went off and all the monitors in HEY! would flash with:

WARNING!
A New Customer Mr. Shoes Is
Approaching Fast!

That would have been cool. :(
