Traded the wife in for one of these babies.

I've seen just about all the good mainstream TV shows I can think of. Not a lot of movies. I've got a cattle-car seat to the United States of Fucking America here pretty soon, and I hear the batteries on these things is enough to make me jizz all over the person unfortunate enough to sit in front of me.

Any good TV shows I might have missed? Movies? Something recent? I can just peruse the interwebs but I am getting lazy.

I have the directors cut of Until the End of the World. 4 hours -- is that a good idea?

EDIT: Is this bullshit?

Saw the Liam Neeson movie already. So, guess that TV show is crap. Band of Brothers is one I've got but not watched yet. Apparently it's great.

band of brothers is fantastic, even i love it and i hate everything!

i quite liked "the walking dead" aswell, but its only for george-romero-slow-zombie-apocalypse type afficionados. its quite american in the style aswell (lots of bro-codes, motherfucker, etc) which can be an aquired taste.. im sure a texan wont mind tho.

brittish mini series "dead set" was a good zombie romp aswell, very contemporary with a good mix of despair, action and comedy.

I'm all caught up on Walking Dead. I like it but it reminds me a lot about why I left America. :D

Will probably blow through BoB... maybe some other shit. I have a handful of movies I've yet to watch. My guess is I will be awake for most of the plane ride over. It leaves at like 18:00 local time... I'm usually not out until 1:00 at least.

I think you should have your Swedish passport revoked for not recommending the Millenium triology. Started one last night to make sure the encode worked on the iPad and I'm just going to watch the fucking thing now. :)

I haven't left yet, so yes.
This trip will be 70's cinema focused I think though. I've seen just about every movie relevant from 1980 onwards. I can't say the same for backwards.

Watch Network. One of the best US movies from the 70s and feels like it could've been made last year.

It is clearly time for a Planet of the Apes marathon.

I watched all of the Prime Suspect episodes and all those of Cracker too in August. That's when I decided to stop drinking.

Also recommended:
Brass Eye
The Day Today
The World at War

I can't remember any more now that I'm in work, I'll have to have a look later.

Are you referring to the US Prime Suspect, or the UK original with Helen Mirren? Cracker was a damn fine show.

The UK original with Helen Mirren. I didn't know there was a US version.

Had a look at the page, can't be bothered with that. I'm watching The Royle Family with my Japanese wife at the moment. Even with subtitles, she has no idea what they are talking about.

Other shows for long flights:
Father Ted never gets old
David Attenborough documentaries
Old BBC Horizon documentaries
Louis Theroux

speaking of louis theroux, there was a brittish guy that did undercover hidden-camera documentaries over 10 years ago.. anyone know what im talking about?

i can only remember 2 episodes, one he was an undercover chelsea hooligan (even got tattooed and all) and the other he was a sleazy model-search guy screwing models for an agency all over europe.. all with hidden camera footage and stuff, really good revealing stuff!
cant remember what the series was called tho.. :(

louis theroux is ok but he acts too stupid to really hit the nail, he has the same defence mechanisms as a stupid blonde at a political discussion...

That's "MacIntyre Undercover" with Donal MacIntyre, who's Irish, not British.
