I do, but I'm currently playing horribly broken games in STGT07. I sat out two weeks straight, so need to actually contribute for this week finishing up in a couple of days, and next week.

I was thinking of having a score contest...but with a non-shooting game and not something that someone else here has raped. That leaves out the slugs and probably everything else. I don't know...maybe a Puzzle Bobble or a single-screen platformer.

I would as well. Didn't participate in the STGT07 this year so having some other sort of scoring competition should be fun. Non-shooters sounds interesting. :D

I wouldn't mind a Puzzle Bobble competition. I only have 2X though.

I was thinking something MAMEable. Guess you don't do MAME? Obviously I'm not a stickler either way. They're kind of all the same anyway, right?

I think the game is pretty lame on either end of the spectrum in both modes. It's not got a very solid score system either way. Honestly, my hopes are really low for STGT to ever make sense.

Let me finish up Omega Turd this week and we'll go from there. Maybe take scores through Friday or something. Winner gets a personalized link to a shock site from me (a friend of mine sent me a fucking doozy yesterday. O_O)

EDIT: No reason to lie...it was Phantasy Star.

This sounds like a great idea!
Thanks to Macaw I'm addicted to Sunset Riders ;)

If we play a single screen platformer, I suggest the one where you turn bad guys into cakes and smash them

How about Tumble Pop? I've been playing this recently, and I still suck if that helps.

It's a terrible game, but I would be up for that. Just recently got the PCB ;)

Snow Bros sounds good, but make a separate entry for the (imo superior) MD version then. :)

I never got around to deciding anything due to business (and I bought DOJ: Black Label and have been playing that). I spent yesterday cocking about w/ super gun shit and got absolutely nothing done. :(

Anyway, is anyone in a hurry? We're about to start the last week at shmups and it might be the only week we play a half decent game, so I want to participate.

Maybe Dungeon Magic would be a cool game to play?
I remembered the name of that game, it's Fairyland Story. Something about smashing cake is just... liberating! :conf:

There really are loads of great games to play, how are we ever going to pick one?

I'm not in a rush to start myself, what with the tournament and all.

Any of the Data East or Taito single-screen platformers would be cool.

Cutesey cut scenes and 10 extra stages. :)

Also it has a password system - obviously not something to use for a scoring comp - but it makes the game more enjoyable to me, as it really is hard as hell on one credit.

Shit...totally forgot about this.
Okay ,what are we playing? Snow Bros. seems to be the big hit. Mega Drive or PCB? I'm generally keen on the PCB, but I'm open for a democratic vote here.

Either one is fine with me, but I've been practicing with the Mega Drive version.
